Today school was canceled! There was snow predicted last night and into today. The snow never came, but the last 2 days we have had a 2 hour delay and very few students. It has been cold by Seattle standards and more dangerous, because it is unusual and people don't know what to do. Monday going to work was scary, I will spare the details, because I have told the story so many times, let's just say West Seattle in the ice and snow, especially by the school I work at, was a nightmare.
I woke up early, out of habit and am listening to the NPR Listeners pick of the best music of 2008 show, drinking coffee and finishing up a few knitting projects. When I said I was going to knit today, Topher rolled his eyes. Then I mentioned the Christmas cards I still need to make and I got the double eye roll. So...his suggestion was to read. He is nearing the end of The Amber Spyglass (the third book in the His Dark Materials series, the first one is The Golden Compass, a wonderful series and book) and if I was reading that, I am sure I would have started reading before I even got out of bed! My point was...I am going to read today! I am still reading The Audacity of Hope and also Main Street. I have to read at least 2 books at once.
Knitting? I have a few more Christmas presents to knit, I don't think they will take me very long. I really want to knit a bunch of stuff for ME! I made a hat and a scarf for me! This is not something that I have done before. Lately I have found so many cute patterns for me, so hopefully after the gift knitting is done I can treat myself. I'll post photos when they are blocked, something I will do today. I wonder if we have school tomorrow?
