...crafty...

So you may or may not know I am a big fan of Martha. Always have been. I don't get a chance to try all of her ideas, but I did finally get to try the Clove Pomanders this fall. Here is a photo of mine, I used satsumas and a lemon and my advice to you is do not use either of these, if you try this at home. I may try it again with a different type of fruit. The lemon does smell good, but it was very difficult to get the cloves into the rind even when I made a hole first with a needle. I did indeed finish the headband and decided to not add the top cross piece, I thought it might look like some sort of bandage type head gear. So, here it is and very comfortable to boot. I used Plymouth Encore: Worsted Weight 75% Acrylic 25% Wool and it turned out looser than you might want it. (I'm keeping this one!)
I started making "Soda Tab Bracelets" in the Marshall Islands, where the crafting supply was low. I had been using ribbon and soda tabs, until an Aha! moment. The new ones are made with elastic and buttons to add that individual look. Happy Saturday!
